Portrait: Maria The Blogger

by Jon Katz

Maria began blogging shortly before we got together. Our whole relationship has been bracketed by our blogs, which are central to our lives. Maria sells all of her beautiful work on her blog, and my primary income now is blog support contributions and subscriptions.

Neither of us is rich by any means, but the blogs have enabled us to do our work and live our lives and we learn all the time from one another.

After dinner, each of us blogs for the last time of the day. Maria sits at the dining room table, I go into my office. When we finish, we’ll watch a movie, or more likely, read and talk.

Blogging is one of the faces of Maria, and I feel as if my Leica caught this the other night.

    1. It’s not something we keep track of Barbara, but sure. It would be very strange if we never saw one another’s blogs once in awhile…

  1. I was raised in a rural area in the 30’s and 40’s. I had the good luck to work with a number of farmers and tradesmen
who taught me many trades to be used with my hands and head. I was taught that if you learned a trade using your head and one with your head you would never be out of work. At 90 years of age I still firmly believe that.
