Fate In The Pole Barn. Cleaning Up After Pumpkin

by Jon Katz

This afternoon, we went into the Pole Barn to clean up Pumpkin’s bedding and hay. We were hopeful, but neither of us was confident he would make it. Sick sheep rarely do. While Maria shoveled the bedding into a wheelbarrow, Fate came looking for some work and excitement.

She peered curiously into the barn but didn’t want t come in. Then she came back a second later and peeked around the corner again. Fate is intense, curious, and wants to see and be a part of everything. She is also hoping against hope that she’ll get to run around the sheep again, which is not so easy to do on all this ice.

Fate will never give up trying and hoping.

All traces of Pumpkin and his life and death are gone now, that is the way it is on farms. Many dramas are in front of us. Thanks for following his life and noticing that he died.
