Until a few weeks ago, I never heard of an air plant, let alone an “alien” air plant. This one was a gift for me from Maria, it arrived today in the very bitter cold. We soaked it in water and it seems to be all right. Along with it came a beautiful blue earthen jar, the plant now sits on the edge of my desk by my computer.
Maria is turning me into a plant geek, and I can’t say I’m not enjoying it. We soak our air plants in water once a week, especially during cold and dry times. They live and feed off of the humidity and moisture in the air. We have ten in the house now. I love to water them every week and turn them upside down to dry.
