Asher In The Snow

by Jon Katz

The sheep are well suited and outfitted for a throw, but anything that interrupts their sense of grazing throws them off. They are jumpy out there in the pasture. They keep looking at me, demanding to know when I will do something useful, like get the grass to grow again right now.

  1. “Get the grass to grow again right now” Reminds me of one of my cats who didn’t like it when the sun set. That apartment had a very large open porch with a good ceiling porch light. When the sun went down behind the house, the front yard was very dark under huge oak trees. She’d run out. Stop at the top step. Turn around and yell at me.
