It’s sometimes difficult for me to pass on the small things that your donations do for the residents at the Mansion and the students at Bishop Maginn High School.
Sometimes, it’s the small things that make the biggest difference.
This morning I got some overshoe boots for Fred, he last bought boots 20 years ago and was shocked to find out he can’t afford them in 2021, now living at the Mansion.
I tracked them down. He can resume his walks today. Seven bathrobes have been delivered to the Mansion for our get-everyone-there-a-bathrobe project. We are delivering some turkeys and other food to the Mansion for Thanksgiving.
I was happy to see this photograph, sent by Emily Knudsen, the new Activity Director of the Mansion, showing the residents in Memory Care working on their watercolor and oil paintings with the art supplies you sent them.
Emily says they love this kind of work, it is creative, calming and uplifting for them.
Small acts of great kindness. We aren’t arguing, we are doing good. The Lord’s work.
If you wish to contribute to this work, you can send a donation to me, Jon Katz, via Paypal, [email protected], or by Venmo, [email protected]. Or by check, Jon Katz, Mansion Fund, P.O. Box 205, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816. Thanks.
Battle cry of the AOG:
“We aren’t arguing, we are doing good.”
Jon, I would like to order some of the pictures like the residents are painting for our local nursing home’s memory care unit. Was it Amazon?
Marsha, I don’t know, I didn’t order the paints. I’d suggest e-mailing Emily Knudsen the Mansion Activity Director, she’s [email protected]
This is lovely; so glad for them. Did they get to have their Halloween celebration?
Yes they did…I couldn’t make it..
