It was a classic November Day, made gloomier by the dark days of Fall and Winter, which are upon us.
I love the outline of the farmhouse, Maria’s studio, our farmhouse, and our huge maple trees formed a beautiful silhouette against the angry sky. My Leica and I wouldn’t miss it. The photo practically screams “November,” my least favorite month of the year.
I love all your stories and stories. I’ve been following you since the beginning. I loved Gus and Red and all your dogs. Marie is a favorite person as well as you. I agree with you, most of the time. Thank you for being yourself. Keep the blog going.
Thanks Barbara, I appreciate the good words. If you agreed with me all of the time, there would be no point in reading me at all..Thanks for existing..jon
Ah! But the contrast, at least as I understand it..of.being chilled and aware as you pass from the bleak cold into the warmth and color of your home. I would shout a big WOW every time!
That’s a nice thought, and so true..thanks Susan..
Peaceable kingdom is what first came to mind. And, lovely in black and white.
November. Yes, my most unfavorite month too. When my mother had a party for my 6th birthday, she invited my whole class which was in a one room school house. She (and I) will never forget it. Every single foot of my classmates brought mud in and spread it over the whole house. She spent days cleaning afterwards and never had a party for me again. So much for November.
Personally I love November. Not nust because I was born then but because it starts sith all saints day where se remember our loved ones who have died and ends with Thanksgiving. Most of all I love it’s colors. Thankfully there’s a place for all of us.
“No flowers, no fruit, no leaves, November”
