It was a beautiful day.
We went out for breakfast, then to the farmer’s market; Maria did some gardening, preparing her gardens for winter. I threw the ball for Zinnia; I meditated, I started a powerful and gripping new novel, The Memoir of Stockholm Sven, which looks to be a stunning knockout and first novel by Nathaniel Ian Miller.
I honestly cannot put it down.
I had a hard time sleeping last night, some old nightmares flared up, and my apnea mask suddenly blew a lot of frigid air all over my face. I still got five hours of sleep, though.
So when it got dark, I lay down in my newly favorite chair to do some reading, and of course, fell asleep. Maria came by and tossed a soft and fuzzy blanket over me because the fire had gone out, and the room was getting hold.
I didn’t know she did it, and I didn’t know Bud had hopped aboard to keep me company or that Zinnia had joined in by curling up in the blanket at my feet. I was wrapped in dogs; there is nothing sweeter and more peaceful than that.
Maria got the picture. I hope everyone had a lovely weekend, as peaceful as mine.
My husband calls it ‘being dogged’.
This is such a wonderful photo. Nothing better than being wrapped in dogs, and a warm blanket. 🙂
