Walking Up The Hill Again

by Jon Katz

I was so happy to be walking again up my hill that I went back a second time. Zinnia was out walking in the woods with Maria, and I can’t go walking in the woods easily, the ground is too uneven for my legs right now.

But I walked up this hill easily and without much discomfort. In the decade or so that I’ve been walking up the hill, I often felt some angina or was short of breath, or I huffed and puffed like an old locomotive going up a mountain.

None of that today, I just felt like I was floating up the hill. Whatever they have done to me or are doing to me, it’s working. My body likes it. So does my soul. I brought the Leica with me to capture the hill in a different kind of way. Color captures some things, black and white captures others.

I am still learning what.

  1. Congrats on the hill walk! And, I truly believe we see so much more in Black and white prints…not distracted by the colors? I don’t know why, but this is such a great landscape shot.
