My World Succulent By The Window: Leica Close-Up

by Jon Katz

I’m coming to the end of confinement to My World; my bandage comes off on Thursday. The challenge for me was to look and see and appreciate the beauty around me.

A month ago, I bought a used Leica Q2 close-up lens which is different from a macro lens. It just lets me get closer to things than I can with the regular lens.

Still confined to the house mostly (I’m getting to go for a ride today), I’m zeroing in on the beautiful plants’ Maria has placed in every window of the farmhouse.

There are scores of succulents. I like this one, sitting by the southern window. The Leica turned the photo into art. I hope I remember when I leave my world how beautiful it is once you open your eyes.

The Leica is one of the best gambles I ever took.

  1. I love doing close-up photography, and there is something about black and white. Both are beautiful captures. And, I’m glad your world is beginning to expand once again.
