It’s a warm and breezy day, just ahead of a cold front and a wave of thunderstorms. For me, it’s the beautiful apple tree in the back yard that announces Fall; I looked out the window and saw the tree spouting leaves against a rising sun—a perfect image for my new Leica.
It was, I thought, a beautiful image; I ran out naked and grabbed the camera, hobbling back in my surgical boot. Behind me, I heard a window opening upstairs, and Maria stuck her head out, yelling at me to come in and get off of my foot. She didn’t mention getting dressed.
She can’t help smiling when she sees me running outside naked with my camera. My foot held up well.
Don’t be fooled by the smile; she was pretty serious. I came in, but I got the shot. Fall is officially here for me. This afternoon, we’re going to Bennington with our friend Jackie Thorne to see the new Bond movie No Time To Die.
First, I’m beginning preparations to fill the new raised garden bed the Amish built for me. We’re putting in old plastic plant holders and twigs, and then, if the rain holds off, donkey manure and soil. I’m psyched.
What is the purpose of the plastic flower pots for the soil preparation ?
As I said in the piece, Ana, ventilation…
Your description gave me a chuckle. What a sight you must have been! Are Maria’s eyes permanently scarred? Lol
