From the second Zinnia came to live with us, she and Bud bonded. Their love for one another is always touching and sometimes profound. Zinnia loves to rest and sleep with her big head on Bud’s solid body. I love the way they accept one another entirely.

When the dogs are out in the yard, Zinnia won’t come in until Bud comes in before her. She loves to take his tiny head in her big mouth and shake it a bit. Zinnia doesn’t know she’s big, and Bud doesn’t know he’s small. He can still take her down in a flash.

They never lose patience with one another.
