Zinnia and I went outside to feel the breeze, look at the sunset, and sit together in the dark. I’m learning how to use the Leica at night, and I took a shot with it tonight, opening the aperture as wide as possible. I like the feel of the photo.

Zinnia In The Dark
by Jon Katz
Jon, Please replace your torn and battered US Flag. When I see such a flag I think of neglect and disrespect. I know your better than that (and I don’t even know you) Jim
Jim, thanks please don’t tell me what to do, and you will get to know me better than you do. Comments are not for telling me what I ought to be doing but are for commending or discussing the blog posts.
Love the B&Ws!! I just saw this article and thought you might enjoy it… quite amazing stuff! https://www.nikonsmallworld.com/galleries/2021-photomicrography-competition
It’s beautiful; Zinnia is precious, and you make me think I should get out my camera (and not use my phone for everything) and start taking some real photos!
Jon, Zinnia looks so small and lonely in the large yard. Does the Leica only take black and white pictures or is that your choice. The whole picture has a lonely feel to it.
. It’s a monochrome camera, as I’ve mentioned many times on the blog. It only shoots black and white, but I also shoot mostly in color with a different camera, as you can see from reading the blog.
