There are three beautiful holes in the big apple tree, and I love taking photos of them. Over the years, this hold has been home to birds, chipmunks, mice, squirrels, and various snakes and bees and hornets. I always wanted to take a photo of this tree, so I restrained myself, but I loved the house as a backdrop.

The Hole In The Apple Tree, Home To Many Critters
by Jon Katz
This is one of those photos that makes you think. I like the comparison of the two homes – one a refuge for humans and the other a refuge for animals. It makes you wonder about the lives of the inhabitants. ?

That really is a beautiful photo. I love the juxtapositioning of the two homes. Thanks for sharing it.
When I was on retreat I saw a tree with a small opening that looked like the keebler elf tree. I think it is cool to take pictures around the farm.
