Maria thought I’d gone mad when I said I wanted to buy this small child’s wicker chair for Bud; he would love to sit on it as a throne. She doubted he would ever do it.

The secret, I said, was to put his favorite soft blanket on the chair, and he would jump up on it and use it all during the cool weather and winter. I think we even had a $5 bet on it.

Yesterday I looked up, and there was the Little King, taking up position on his throne. When that wood stove is going in the winter, he will hardly ever get off of it.

We love making Bud happy. He’s a great little dog, and he deserves it.
