I see the laundry as part of the Amish aesthetic, Amish Art. I’ve gotten my hands on a nine-basket oak stand for displaying and selling vegetables. I’ll surprise them when I go and pick it up; I’ll leave it in the foodshed.
Today I’m focusing on my writing and my farm. Lots of chores to do and I’m tired. I’ve got to pick out a couple of books.
Friday, Maria is taking me off to an inn in Vermont to celebrate my birthday. We’ll be back on Sunday. This is very thoughtful of her, and as always, we could use a breather. I don’t blog on these mini-vacations; we talk and read.
We need to get away to relax—too many distractions. Last night, Moise’s son John rode into the driveway to ask for help getting his friend a train reservation for tomorrow.. Amtrak’s website was a little wobbly, but I did it, and they are ready to go to Albany on Thursday morning (I’m not driving that day.)
I love seeing horses tied up in our backyard.
Maybe I’ll arrange with our farm sitter to get away early Thursday evening – surprise Maria. We’ll find some sleazy motel to stay in on the way. We love sleazy motels.
This morning, I’m off to a meeting about the Amish bank accounts. We’ll see. My red Leica camera strap arrives tomorrow.
Happy birthday! Mine is this Friday, so I guess we share the same zodiac sign.
I love the beautiful blues in the laundry and sky!
Enjoy your much deserved break, and the sleazy motel.?
