We are launching a preventive crafts strike for the Mansion with a new “Amazon Crafts and Fun Wish List.”

If the Mansion is closed down again, as seems possible, we plan on being ready.

The Mansion just re-opened a couple of months ago but now the possibility looms that the resurgence of Covid cases might close it again.

That would be a hard blow for the residents, who are still recovering emotionally and physically from the last shutdown. But we can make sure they have interesting things to do if that happens, or even if it doesn’t.

To make sure the residents have some stimulation no matter what, a new wish list is up and running consisting of 11 items, ranging in price from $4.99 to $46.59.

They include a deluxe roulette game, award ribbons for several contents and challenges, acrylic art paint, Craps & Texas Hold “Em Poker, a 30 pack plush animals set, a Friendship Bracelet kit, and 30 small stuffed sea animals.

The list is only asking for one of each item, I hope it moves quickly. The residents have been through the wringer, they chose each one of these items.

Nobody knows what will happen with the Delta virus, but these are things the residents need and want in any case. If they are shut down, the list will take on even greater importance.

For several years now, the Mansion residents have depended on us to supply them with craft and art materials, games, movies, and music.

That was a life-saver during the pandemic, and most of those gifts are gone, worn to the bone by a lot of use.

It’s hard to describe how much these games and crafts matter, break up the routine, keep the residents thinking and connect them to one another.
