Moises Barn, Laundry Day, Monday

by Jon Katz

The barn photo speaks for itself, a new image, looming over this new farm, a statement to the world that a farm is born, with crops, horses, goats, sheep, rows of sweet corn, sweet creek water tricking down to the tomatoes and blueberry bushes.

The barn can be seen from the road now, a beacon and a rebirth for a battered town in need of hope. I was making my afternoon ice delivery and I saw the barn sitting grandly there between the towels on the laundry line.

Laundry day offered the perfect frame for the striking new barn. This photo speaks for itself.
