Hemerocallis, common name Daylily. Not a true lily which is poisonous. You can eat daylilies, toss the colorful petals in your salad or use the buds in a stir-fry. When I worked as a pastry chef years ago, I would fill the flowers with a cream chees filling and present them as appetizers for catering affairs.
Beautiful! I have had day lilies like this one in my yard for many years. They started out blooming in an orange color and each year seem to get a bit deeper in color similar to the one now blooming in your yard. Bloom time here in PA has now passed…it has traveled north, I see?
The red flower is a day lily, I believe. I have one like it in my garden. Such a nice contrast of colors with the bright red and yellow flowers.
It’s a Day Lily. Aptly named as it last little longer than a day.
