It turns out today was Moise’s birthday, and he is not a Leo but born under the sign of Cancer. The family is not really into astrology, and I’m not either.
I thought we were both Leo’s, and so did they. My birthday is over a month away.
The birthday boy spent the day at his daughter’s new house working on pipes and plumbing. He said it was a “perfect working day,” which is about as enthusiastic as he gets.
I got to say hello and happy birthday when he got home.
His wife and children did tell him I was planning a surprise, and he had fun for a few minutes trying to guess the surprise. His kids love it. I told him his gift wouldn’t arrive for a few days.
I wished him a happy birthday and said I appreciated him and his family in my life. Then I left them alone, Saturday is quiet family time, and Sunday is church.
I did leave them enough ice cubes to keep their ice chest cool through the holiday. I got six pennies for my jar. I think the gift – a carpenter’s tool belt will come in handy for a person who’s about to build a barn and a house.
Maria and I sent to see “Summer of Soul” in a movie theater in Massachusetts. We loved it, I recommend it highly.
Tomorrow, we plan a read-a-thon. We both have several books we are eager to read and perhaps finish. The plan is to go nowhere, blog little, and enjoy each other’s company and some quiet.
I will be blogging a bit and working on feeling hopeful and grateful for my country. I want to take more photos of the poor, drought people who miss their gardens.
