Tonight was a farewell feast and celebration for the Bishop Maginn High School Class of 2021. It was beautiful, loving, and powerful. There was a deeply touching dedication of thanks to me, Zinnia, and the Army Of Good.
I’m in the back row, holding a yearbook dedicated in part to me and you.
I’ll post more about it in the morning, it’s late and I’m tired. Zinnia drew a large media crowd last night, her crowing as Prom Queen drew two print reporters and two TV stations.
She’s all over the news. A memorable and unforgettable experience for me and for Maria.
I came to love and admire these children, they are heroes, everyone. It is sad to say goodbye to them exhilarating to hear about their plans for the future. More tomorrow.
Below, Zinnia gets crowned by Katie, one of the BMHS students who trained her in therapy work with me two years ago. The love between those two was thick enough to touch.
The food was great, and I danced in my boot.
The fabled Sue Silverstein presided. Thanks, Army Of Good for making this celebration and farewell possible.
