My new Amish straw hat is great. I was offered one as a kind of joke; Moise’s kids thought I should have one, especially in the summer. I wasn’t sure if I would wear it or not.
I’ve had it for two days. It is a great hat, perhaps the best I can recall owning. It is well made, it fits snugly on my head, even in the wind, and it keeps sun and rain off of me.
Maria wanted to buy it for me, and they would only charge $20, which I thought was a special favor to me but is actually what they charge. I got a straw hat a few years ago from overseas; it cost about $150 and lasted about four wears.
I love my new heat; it’s a gift from the angels for the summer.
She got this shot of me today peering out of the School House Studio at the donkeys. I’ve wanted a hat like it is forever, it really is the best thing for the sun. And I’m sensitive to the sun with my heart medications.
I’m grateful.
It fits you perfectly! With the suspenders you really have a great farmers “look”. A magazine cover if there ever was one.
The hat totally suits you Jon…you look mah-vo-lus!!
That hat really suits you, Jon. It’s exactly right!
Love the hat! My hubby bought one when we were in New Wilmington, PA. He wears it every now and then when he’s doing yard work. Very well made and $20 is probably the average price, he paid $21.
