I planted 50 Zinnia Polar Bear sees in my first raised garden bed this morning; I’ll devote this bed to Zinnia’s, Maria’s favorite flower. The first batch didn’t make it past the first planting, the portable greenhouse blew over, and most died.
I ordered some white Zinnia’s from California; I will mix them with some colored Zinnias as soon as some new seeds arrive. These Zinnias love a strong sun, but they do not like frost, so I’ll have to be careful until Memorial Day.
This is a perfect way to start Spring for me. I’m grateful for the raised beds, my bed also thanks them.
I’ve never planted a garden before, at least not all by myself: something new and beautiful, the giving and nurturing of life.
