“Katz On Dogs:” Count The Ways You Can Get Your Questions To Me

by Jon Katz

(The Wake-up Squad struck this morning, fast and early)

We’re getting close. “Katz On Dogs” 2.0 debuts Wednesday, 6 p.m., EDT on WBTNAM(1370. The station is going FM in a few weeks; most of you can only hear it live in parts of the Vermont, New York State area.

Until they go FM, the station’s listening area is small. A radio app is the best way to go. It is easy, free, and very clear.

But anyone in the country or most of the world can hear it clearly and for free on one of a  score of good free radio apps like Tunein.com (my favorite), Pandora,  Slacker Radio, IHeartRadio.

Just search for WBTNAM.org.

People ask me how they can get questions to me on my radio show if they can’t get through on the phone or aren’t home to listen.

I can help you.

First, the idea is to call if you can.

My show is safe and civil; we are not rude or demeaning to anyone. Every question is valid, and if I don’t know the answer, I will either find out or say so.

I am not a vet and do not pretend to be a vet. I don’t dispense free medical advice; that would be cruel and dangerous for dogs.

If you want to call, the number to call is 802 442 -1010. The station is working to make the phone set up easier and more efficient than last.

Secondly, you can e-mail me before, during, or after the show. I will get your e-mail, research it if necessary, and if the call is simple,  read it aloud and answer it on the air the first chance I get. My e-mail is [email protected]. You can e-mail me anytime.

Shy people and people with tough work schedules often prefer that.

Third, you will be able to text me (not Wednesday)  your questions once we move the show to its afternoon Wednesday or Thursday slot.

If you are individualist in your ways and somewhat tied to tradition, you can also write me a letter: Jon Katz, P.O.Box 205, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816.

I check my phone regularly during the show, don’t hesitate to contact me in that way. I prefer to talk to you and ask questions, but I’d rather hear from you in an e-mail than not at all.

So call if you can: 802 442-1010.

You can also call the station with any questions; the number is 802 442 6321.

I hope you’ll be listening at 6 p.m. Wednesday or calling in.

I’m doing this to support Community Radio, a precious cause in the Corporate Nation, and help people understand their dogs and cats in helpful ways.

I see it as a good cause all around. Come on in.
