I’ve been going through my dog research books this weekend, preparing for the debut of the next iteration of “Katz On Dogs,” my call-in broadcast about dogs, cats, and other animals debuting at 6 p.m. (EDT) Wednesday, March 31 on WBTNAM1370.
(Note, the station is going FM in a few weeks, and my broadcast will almost certainly be moved to Wednesday or Thursday afternoon).
You can live stream the broadcast from anywhere in the United States and most of the world on any free radio app (tunein.com) that is popular. Just punch in WBTNAM.org into the search tab.
The broadcast is a call-in, so I hope many of you will call me. The toll-free number is 802 442-1010. WBTN is a community radio station based in Bennington, Vt.
I am a passionate supporter of community radio, especially now, given what the mainstream corporate media is doing to our country. I hope the broadcast will be helpful to the station and dog and cat and animal lovers.
You can ask me about anything relating to animals, especially dogs and cats. I’m not a vet and don’t pretend to be one.
I don’t give out free medical advice for dogs; I think it’s unethical and dangerous for laypeople to do that.
I talk about training, grieving, dogs’ intelligence and mind, and a wide range of issues relating to our growing emotional attachments to them.
I’m excited about the broadcast. There must be room in America for an intelligent, safe, and civil broadcast about the animals we love and care about so much. In 1965 there were 15 million owned dogs in America. Today, there are more than 80 million.
That tells us just about all we need to know about the importance of talking about them.
I hope you can listen at 6 p.m. EDT Wednesday, March 31st. WBTNAM.org if you stream. All you need is a free radio app like tunein.com.
The number is 802 442-1010. I don’t believe the program will stand or fall on me or my knowledge; it will stand or fall on the number of people who call in to talk to me. Give it a shot; I don’t bite. And I promise a safe and civil environment, no matter what your question is.
will the recordings be available for download later, for those who can’t listen live?
maybe on iTunes or … ?
thanks!
I don’t know yet, Lisa, I think the afternoons will have podcasts for sure..
