Four small acts of great kindness today. Bought some gift cards, send some to Bishop Maginn, brought some books to the Amish children, gave some gift cards to a Mansion aide who really needs them.
First, I drove to the Mansion for the aide’s cards, and $600 dollars worth is also on the way to Sue Silverstein at Bishop Maginn High School. Nobody in the Bishop Maginn community go hungry this year.
I chose six books to drop off to Mary and Susie at the second Amish farm on the South end of town. She was working in the barn when we came and she said every one of the books we left last week is a hit, and has been or is being read.
This made me feel pretty great. So far, I’m batting 100 percent with the books for the Amish. Every book is liked and the families are eager for more. I intend to deliver books at each form once a week.
They are eager readers and are devouring them Thanks for your suggestions, librarians, and others. My research is also paying off., your recommendations are good.
As we drove by the second farm, I saw that two young men are plowing the old-fashioned way, getting ready for Spring planting. I only take photos from a distance, which is okay with the families.
We bought a tray of oat and date-filled cookies for $5. Mary said the books mean a lot to them, I promised to keep coming. This feels very good.
