It was a little over a year ago that our friend Susan Popper died, the victim of cancer. The Army Of Good raised money to send her dog Sally to California, where Kathy Cary generously agreed to love her and care for her.
Sally had been alone with Susan all of her life, and rarely went outside or left the house. She would hide from almost everyone who came near her.
She was very attached to Susan.
Kathy changed all that. Sally loved to be with her other dogs and was lived and socialized until she died a few days ago of congestive heart failure. She had been suffering seizures the past couple of weeks.
Sally was very important to Susan, a lifeline for her at times. Neither of them had easy lives.
Special thanks to Donna Nicosia, Susan’s very good and loyal friend, and my very good and loyal friend. Susan came up here From New Jersey and got Sally and helped her find a new home.
Thanks to those of you who helped Sally find a good home and thanks to Kathy for giving Sally such a good and healthy and happy year.
Thanks for making a sad story happier.
