Birds In An Ice Storm

by Jon Katz

The songbirds beginning to arrive on the farm in expectation of Spring are wise to huddle around Maria’s studio in these last cold, snowy and biting days.

We keep the feeder stocked with good seed, and also make sure there is suet available as well. I love to stand and watch them.

  1. Jon – behind the bird feeder in the picture, the storm window on the right appears not to be fully secured. The clip in the upper left corner of the window is turned and does not appear to catch the window securely.

You may want to check it, turn it to catch, and tighten the screw before you have a problem. Always good to check the other windows as well. Good luck.
