Maria and I keep our boundaries around our work. During the day, we rarely see each other, except for lunch, if our schedules permit. She often takes walks with friends (during the virus) or figures out a way to eat with them.
We both usually work well into the evening. It is important to each of us that we keep our work separate and that we each have our own space in which to work.
We love to be together, we love to work alone.
I don’t go to her studio unless invited. She rarely comes to my study.
Sometimes, I just like to see what she’s working on. Sometimes, she’ll come into my study to see what I am writing.
Sometimes, like this morning, I missed her and I also wanted to take a photo of her latest project, a hanging piece called “Owl Lady.” It’s vintage Maria, strange and wonderful.
It’s not finished yet, you can check out the progress of this very original piece on her blog, http//www.fullmoonfiberart.com or e-mail her at [email protected].
She was happy to see me, I was happy to see her.
We gave each other a kiss, I took a picture or two and left.
Jon, what a lovely portrait of Maria in her studio doorway! I think it is my favorite photo of her to date! 🙂
I love your portrait of Maria looking out of her studio.
