I went out yesterday into the early morning, just before sunrise to try and capture the feeling of the morning list. I stood between our apple tree and the white birch as the sun rose up from the fog. I stood there for a long time and took some deep breaths, I soaked up the quiet.

Morning Mist
by Jon Katz
Jon, you remind me of my art instructor at Art College some years ago as an over-age ‘mature’ student of design. He taught Colour Theory and every day when he got up, he painted the ‘colours’ of the day. He did this faithfully, for years. You are seeing colours and your world through the lens of your camera. You are an artist in what you see and capture in your photography. I trust you are sufficiently proud of yourself for reaching this in your ‘older’ age, as I was graduating with a diploma in design at the age of forty-eight. Never stop learning. Never stop exploring. And you are doing just that with your photography.

Thank you Sandy, what a lovely message…
Your photos often catch my breath as they appear on the screen. This is another one!
I love to be up early to catch the first fingers of light that push away the dark. This photo feels like a painting on fabric to me. It’s stunning!
Thank you Jon for this. I don’t know of anyone else who takes early morning photos. Most take sunsets, but I hear your good morning world! You kiss the morning into Being.
Wow…gorgeous. Thanks.
