The gift cards I requested from the Army of Good for Melissa, the Mansion aide I wrote about over the weekend, and for Paris, the Bishop Maginn High School freshman in need of support, have begun to arrive, and thanks from the deepest part of me.
I’m going to send this bunch right off to Sue Silverstein at Bishop Maginn, and make sure I have enough to give to Melissa every Monday through Christmas and New Year’s.
These cards are making an enormous difference in the lives of the people receiving them. We used one last week to buy a winter coat for a refugee student who didn’t have one.
I hope we can keep the cards coming. I’m recommending Wal-Mart cards right now because the recipients can buy personal items like deodorant and shampoo along with food. And because they are so easy to find and buy.
You can buy the Wl-Mart cards in any amount. Please send them to me, Jon Katz, 2502 State Route 22, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816. If you prefer, you can send a donation to me at Jon Katz, P.O. Box 205, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816 or to the above address, I’ll be happy to purchase them.
I’m focusing on Malissa, who is seriously ill, and one or two other Mansion aides, and the Bishop Maginn families who have asked for assistance.
Thank you so much. You can see and purchase the Wal- Mart cards here.
I’m so proud that no one in our circle has gone hungry this year.
