Moving Forward, Always. A New Kind Of Camera

by Jon Katz

Zinnia was gracious enough to help me christen my new camera, the remarkable camera in the Iphone 12 Pro Max that arrived today.

I lay the old phone down next to the new one, as instructed, put in a password or two, and the new phone imported all of the data from the old phone in about five minutes.

I entered the password for my bank and a credit card, and the transition was complete.

I loved my Iphone 11 and had no need of a new Iphone, but the new camera is remarkable, I tried out a few new iPhones and the camera is, in fact, another leap forward.

I sold my old phone (for half the price of the new one) and because Zinnia was watching this process so diligently – she is very curious about what I do I asked her to pose.

Gracious as always, she did. I’ll share some of the first experiments with me. A therapist recently told me that most men my age are wary of change, she said I was unusual.

Photography is so important to me. It is another form of creation, another way to tell my story.

This shocked me. I knew I was unusual, but change is as natural to me as breathing. Change is life. I can already see the advances in color, in zooming, and in shooting in darkness. Standby.

  1. Change keeps one young. And learning new technology is good for seniors’ brains. To me, to age and not experience new things is like saying okay I’ll just exist and wait to die now. And, I don’t know what’s what with the plumbing but I’m glad it’s not cancer.
