The artist Emily Gold send me the first back of appreciation cards that she is making for me to send to donors to the Army Of Good as long as they last.
I can’t afford too many; I will send one out to regular contributors, people who send $5 and send more as long as they last. And people who just seem like they could use a card.
(Emily is an amazing artist; she specializes in collage, makes the most wonderful cards, paper books, and collage kits. You can see her work here.)
She also gives popular collage lessons online. You can see her blog and work here. Every one of her cards delivers an instant smile)
We have been on a remarkable journey together now for four years, thanks to President Trump, who inspired the Army of Good then and now.
He would disapprove of us, I fear; we support too many refugee kids and their families.
I want all of you to know how much I appreciate you, which is why I’m sending you this appreciation card virtually.
In that vein, I want to share a beautiful appreciation card letter I got from a retired Catholic nun, S. Marguerite Donovan; she sent me a $20 check and wrote, “your calls for help trigger the deep goodness in people who want to help. There are so many of them, and you have the gift for enabling them to make a bit of a difference.
That is a very powerful ministry, Jon. God bless your work and all those whose lives you brighten by your goodness. And God bless Maria and all your farm companions. I love to watch the videos, especially of the donkeys.”
Bless you, back, Sister M, and bless all the good people who answer those calls. You might have read that even though I am not a Christian, I have long followed the teachings and empathy practiced by Jesus Christ.
I hope I honor him with my work; I true to be true to his compassion.
Almost every day for the past four years, we have done a little bit of good. I want you to know you are appreciated.
And thank you, President Trump. You started it all.
