Maria put three big marrow bones out in the yard with the three dogs. There was trouble. Fate chased Bud and then Zinnia away from their bones, Zinnia retreated into my study.
She is not a fighter.
Fate is a wonderful dog, but she is not a “sharing” dog. She wants it all, and if we are not around, she takes it all.
When the sheep came out to graze in the pasture, Fate, her priorities always straight, rushed to the gate.
When she wasn’t looking, Bud tiptoed quietly up to the bone, managed to pick it up, and walked slowly and quietly into Maria’s studio.
He went straight to the crate there, which he knows is protected territory for him, Maria won’t let anybody take his bones.
Please note the gorgeous quilts and blanketing that cover Bud’s crate so he can chew his bone in privacy and be surrounded by fine art. Bud is a survivor, he knows how to be patient and get his bone to the right place.
That’s such a smart dog. Great observation. Dogs and birds and animals and Mother Nature amaze me. It was such a classic move.
Bud looks very confident with his bone, in his comfortable crate with amazing art all around him. Reminds me of the Tony Bennett song: “For Once in My Life”.
Way to go Bud… I was going to comment on what a lovely festive colorful crate covering you have. Enjoy it big guy, you earned it!!
Sneaky, but very smart!! Patience pays off.
