Our farmhouse is really an art museum. I see art everywhere I look. I took this photo this morning of a corner of Maria’s desk. The odd things she collects and puts up always come together in a way, as does her sketch of a woman walking under an umbrella.

The drawing was inspired by Maria’s mother, who told her she loved walking under an umbrella when she was young because she was shy and preferred not to be seen.
