Our solar experiment has turned out to be a great success. For the past three months, our monthly electric bill has been about $15 a month. I’m eager to see what happens as the weather cools and the days get shorter.
So far, the solar system is more than paying for itself. One odd but nice benefits are that the sheep love these panels. They come into the panels’ shade to lie down, and the rest of the sun is strong, or just graze in the shadows.
They avoided the panels for the first few weeks, but have come to see them as another kind of pole barn.
You’ve got some pretty smart sheep!!! Not only are you saving money and helping the environment, but you are giving the sheep another resting place in the shade. I’m not sure that the inventors of the solar panels expected that they would be used this way, but when they see this, I bet they are pretty pleased. It is multi purposed and could even be sold that way. Great advertisement for the company that made and installed them.
