Some dogs (Zinnia and Bud) make beautiful friendships with other dogs, some dogs (Fate) don’t.
In the morning, the dogs often sit out for a while in their fenced-in yard. Fate watches out for the sheep, Zinnia and Bud play together and then sit in the doorway of Maria’s studio and watch the world together.
They are an odd couple, but their friendship has only deepened and grown. They are inseparable for most of the day.
In the afternoon, Zinnia comes into my study. I give her a marrow bone and she sleeps next to me while I write. I love Bud sitting on Zinnia’s foot, and Zinnia not caring. It lifts the heart.

So grateful for photos like this. I especially love Bud, he has touched a deep spot in my heart. We share a connection. And that makes me especially fond of lovely Zinnia for loving him just as he is!

Lol they say threes a crowd.
I love this photo. Especially how close they are sitting with Bud sitting on Zinnia. I also have a special feeling for Bud. He came at a time when I had lost one of mine and was caring for another ill Boston. I truly miss not having a Boston Terrier.
I love this photo, to me, it epitomizes easy companionship, love and trust. Just beautiful. A balm for the soul, and you titled it so perfectly “Friends” thank you ?
One photo can take the place of numerous words. I love minimalism in any art form, when it pairs down such an expansive meaning. Great photo.
This is the sweetest photo.
