Life goes on, and on. Zinnia is in heat just about one year after she was born. We noticed some blood spotting yesterday.

I’ve got panties and special diapers – disposable and washable –  coming from Chewy.com and Amazon and this morning we’re heading for Petco to get some until the others arrive.

No walks in the woods for Zinnia, no off-leash walking anywhere, no rides in the car, no dips in the pond. She’ll be quarantined in our fenced in yard and I’ll set up an appointment for spaying in about a month.

Maria was thrilled to have another female around to talk about women’s stuff with his. I looked out the window and she was having a woman-to-woman talk with Zinnia about the female body, periods, heat, and blood.

I listened with fascination but it did not talk I would have thought to have. Maria said she loved it, Zinnia listened attentively and then went out to sit with Fate.

Maria does not care to be called cute, but this was about the cutest picture I’ve ever taken.

We’re on the way to Petco.
