This photo touched my heart. It shows my granddaughter Robin dancing on a beach on Long Island.
The three of them are stuffed into a tiny motel room, but they are glad to be out of New York City for the first time since March. They really needed a change of scene.
I love the creativity of my daughter Emma, she has an exceptional eye for photography and a great gift for writing.
Robin embodies the spirit of loved youth, in these photos I can see how well cared for he is, how loved and empowered. I do miss her, it’s been a long time and this has been a tough year and a testing year for her.
I’m sad that I couldn’t be a better father or grandfather this difficult year. There was just no way to do it.
I love seeing Robin so happy and unfettered.
Beautiful!
Jon, your daughter has an amazing talent in photography. Maybe she should consider publishing a book of all her photos. I would buy it! I also believe “weighty tomes” will never disappear. Robin is a beautiful example of the joy (and other moods!) of children we see cavorting around us on a daily basis. Emma has the perfect knack of capturing these moments in her photos.
I know where they are! My home for 50 years,a beautiful part of the world.
