Today, we devoted our podcast to our lives on Bedlam Farm. How we came to the farm, how it changed our lives, the ways in which we both have evolved here.
We are on the farm every day, and sometimes we forget to talk about what it is like on a farm, how our roles have changed, what the farm has taught us, and means to us.
When I brought the sheep to the first Bedlam Farm 15 years ago, it was all about the dogs for me. I loved sheepherding. When Red died, I didn’t have the heart to get another border collie; the sheep really became a focal point for Maria and her yarn.
It is a lot of hard work to create nice yarn, and Maria works at it all year. I also talk about how the farm changed my life and how much it has come to mean to me.
The farm has taught me so much about life. We tell our farm stories on the podcast.
It is not always pretty or easy, but it is always central to our lives. I never set foot on a farm until I bought Bedlam Farm, it saved my life in many ways, and I am proud of what I have learned.
Check out the podcast if you can. We both think it’s special.
