Our second solar electric bill came today, it was about the same as last month, $15.93, a reduction of approximately $230 in a hot summer month when we used air conditioners for Maria’s studio and our bedroom at night.
This month so far, we have drawn 881.99 kilowatts of electricity from the solar panels, 2.7 Megawatts since we got solar panels in June. This is the equivalent of saving 31.63 trees and 4,186.19 pounds of CO2.
Next year, we will start repaying the loan we took out to buy the panels.
That fee plus our monthly savings on the bill will be substantially less than we were paying for electricity before the panels. The cost of the panels varies with each individual buyer.
We will save a lot of money using solar and it is a joy to feel as if we are doing something special for the environment as well as for ourselves. We are happy to do something for Mother Earth and I think of this every time I look out at our beautiful trees.
It’s such a positive thing to do!!
My Board wants to cut down a beautiful tree ? in front of our building to put up a sign, which can be put on the other side of the sidewalk. We have birds ? and squirrels that live in that tree. I am hoping to convince them to change their minds. It took a long time for that tree ? to grow.
