It’s clouding up in preparation for the tropical storm, but we’ve gotten 9.6 kilowatts this morning, 1.06.05 kilowatts in the first three days of this month, 13.76 kw yesterday – it was cloudy all day.
Since we got the solar going in June, we saved the equivalent of 22.56 trees planted and 2,984,62 pounds of carbon emission. The first electric bill with solar was $15 a month, and that was a service fee.
That’s great news! I’m curious about something. Do the solar panels need to be cleaned at all? Does rain wash them clean? If I got them, I’d have to have them put on the roof, which makes them a bit inaccessible for regular cleaning.
I don’t think so, we might have to brush off the snow if it gets too hight..
Solars work great out here in Colorado. Mine are on the roof of my house. Installed last March. On a great day I can generate 38kW. But on a bad day I might get5kW. And they do get snow covered and then they do not generate at all.
