It’s true. Vegetables that we grow to taste better than any vegetables we buy anywhere, even at the farmer’s market. I’m sure it’s psychological, not literal. But there is something special about picking and eating something we planted and watered and grow.
Our vegetable garden is booming this year – zucchini, squash, kale, and tomatoes. I water the garden every morning and pick a couple of tomatoes as a reward.
The garden is part of our Greening Bedlam Farm initiative – solar power, hybrid car, no plastic bottles of any kind, re-thinking the packages of things, ten new trees, it does good and feels good.
So far this week, the solar has produced 320.83 kilowatts of power. This has been an awfully hot week, we’ve used fans and window air conditioners a lot, I’m eager to see the electric bill next week. I’ll share, of course.
Jon – your veggies look great!
