Maria and I write on our blogs every day. Since I started writing a political column – “One Man’s Truth,” about the political campaign my schedule has changed.
I am spending five or six hours writing these longish pieces – 2,500 words were always my column limit, it’s a natural length for me. I ask Maria to take a look at the column before I finish it, I’ve come to find her advice invaluable.
She is sharp, thoughtful, and doesn’t miss much. She doesn’t edit so much as gives me a sense of how she feels about the piece. So far, so good.
After she gives her feedback, I go through it once or twice. There are always typos of course, and I have a lot of new readers lately.
Many of them get upset when they see typos, they are not used to the more informal rules of the blog. One woman told if I’d fix a typo, then she would send a link to her friends.
I told her I loved my typos and (nicely) to get lost if her friends couldn’t handle a typo, they neve survived reading me.
Yesterday, Maria hunched down on the bathroom floor to read the new pieces I had put up on the blog. I thought it was a neat still life, one of those photos that capture a moment in time, no more, no less.
It’s hard to describe. This photo seems a nice still life, a snapshot of our lives together.
Love the photo. What is on the floor?

Beautiful, and timeless. The breeze lifting the curtains up…and Maria. Serene and peaceful.

The wind in the kitchen curtain — shifts my mind to the 1940s/ 1950s. You seldom see that anymore
Beautiful!!
