The kitchen at Jean’s Place is about 100 degrees on a normal day, I’m not sure I know how anyone could survive it today, which was about 100 degrees outside.
I can’t think of any place I would rather not be than over a hot grill for 12 or 23 hours.
Her Uncle Kevin is on vacation, and she’s going a lot of cooking.
When I came in to pick up our veggie wrap sandwiches, Kelsie sent word that she wanted to see me. When she came out I was astonished to see her Wonder Woman clothes, hat and all.
I was glad to get the picture. I love Kelsie and her indefatigable spirit. The camera loves her expressive face.
She is unstoppable, and she never forgets to laugh at the world and not take it too seriously.
“How are you?,” I always ask.
“Living The Dream,” she always answers.
Kelsie is one of my favorite Strong Women, a Wild Child. She is so very much herself. She will do everything to support her family that she can except whine about it.
We plotted a surprise for the Mansion aides next week. This weekend, Maria and I are working on a special banner for them.
I guess it took a Wonder Woman to work so hard in that boiling hot kitchen today. Kelsie was bent but not broke.
That’s what they call country tough.
Women like Kelsie help me to understand what true grit really is. I am certain I could not do the work she does, and with that smile on her face! She is Wonder Woman!! When I feel the need to whine about my life, I will try to remember Kelsie, and the women like her. Thank you for showing us another perspective from which to view life!
You said it beautifully, Karla..
