A brief and inexpensive new Mansion Amazon Wish List went up today and Nancy needs some new shorts.
I was delighted to actually see and talk to some of the residents today, from a distance, of course. It’s always great to see the residents and figure out what they need.
I’m getting the son of one of the Mansion aides some skateboard safety equipment. It’s his birthday next week and she can’t afford a present.
We were all very happy to see one another.
When I went by the Manson today to drop off some gift cards, some of the residents were outside playing bocce. I just ordered a new sandstone box to hold the outdoor toys, which are increasingly important as the residents are still locked down.
I’m not permitted within 10 feet of the residents, but I got out of the car and we blew kisses at one another. It was great to see them, they all yelled at me for not coming inside.
But I kept my mask on and just waved.
Nancy shouted that she needs some shorts for the summer, so I called Bev Carroll at Beverly’s Outpost and she is holding three pairs of no. 4 sized shorts. I’ll get them to Nancy tomorrow.
Julia, the Mansion Activities Director shouted to me that she was putting up a new Amazon Wish List, entirely for crafts, stained glass, handmade jewelry, and Christmas ornaments.
At the Mansion, it’s never too early to start getting ready for Christmas.
The new list has eight items, ranging in price from $7.27 to $34.
The crafts Wish Lists we have supported have been invaluable in helping the residents occupy themselves and distract them from the shut-in and the fact they haven’t seen their families in months.
This isolation will go on for a long time.
Thanks so much for supporting the residents and the aides. These are difficult times, and they love getting outside and playing some games and gardening.
You can see and purchase the Wish List items here, I’ll take care of Nancy’s shorts. She’s the one waving in the picture.
And Jean’s Place will continue catering special lunches on Wednesdays for the Mansion. They are a huge hit and something everyone looks forward to.
