Love And Life In The Peaceable Kingdom

by Jon Katz

I am proud of Bedlam Farm, it is a place of life and nourishment. I can’t imagine my life without it any longer. I take lots of pictures of Maria loving her animals but this morning, she decided to take a photo of me with them. They mean so much to me.

I went out to help Maria with her Monday video and the chores, and I was especially popular this morning. I love our donkeys dearly and today, they came over and insisted on some butt-scratching and attention.

Zinnia came over to lay at my friend, and I was pleased to see how comfortable she is with the donkeys and how much they have come to love her. Zinnia is irresistible.

Then, Asher, the sheep came over, he loves to get me to scratch his head and nose, and we touched noses while the donkeys waited patiently for more scratching and Zinnia sat quietly in the middle of all this love.

Zinnia is all about love, she refuses to accept anything else, and she has won over the animals one by one.

Bedlam Farm is a peaceable kingdom and I am proud of that. I’m grateful to Maria for taking this picture, it is what our farm is all about at the core.

  1. Beautiful photo-is that something other than a blue shirt you are wearing? Quite dashing. 🙂 Glad you are enjoying the love of all of the animals. Have a great day!

  2. What a beautiful picture. I love the pictures of your farm and all your wonderful animals. So beautiful and restful especially in this time of utter turbulence. Thanks Jon.
