I’m forbidden from buying Maria an anniversary present, so I have no idea where these sneakers came from. They just appeared on the porch in a FedEx box with no return address or other identification.

Naturally, I assumed they were for Maria and I brought them to her.

She accused me of buying them and yelled at me, I denied all knowledge of these sneakers, and I was intrigued to see she was wearing them today. I happen to love the color in them, they practically screamed to be on her feet.
