The first step towards our solar installation was digging a 21-inch ditch that will carry an insulated cable from our electric box to the solar panels being constructed in the south pasture (next photo.)

Kyle and Josh used a small excavator Maria gave clear instructions on saving her plants and the roots of the new trees we’ve planted in the yards. I imagine they’ll be done around lunchtime.

By tonight, 80 percent of our electricity will come through this cable and into our home.
