Yesterday, I lay down in the grass to take a photo, and something stung one of the fingers in my right hand. Early this morning, the finger and hand swelled up to two or three times its normal size.
I seem to have had some kind of allergic reaction. I’m applying ice and some Benadryl oral dehistamines. I got one photo up, but the hand is swelling so much I can’t write for a moment, I’m sidelined.
The hand is going into a bucket of ice water. I’ll check in later.
Jon,
If the swelling continues please get this checked at the emergency ? room. I had a similar situation with a spider ? bite on my hand ? the poison ☠️ moved up my arm very quickly which was dangerous . Fortunately I responded to an IV drip, which took about two hours and the swelling subsided. Doctors said I did the right thing as the poison was heading to my heart ❤️!
I am not normally one to seek help, but glad I did so passing this information along. I hope ? it helps you recover. We need you on the planet Jon to continue your good work!
Take care, Maggie
I am lergic to bites, stings,, too….
Cool Epsom salt soak is great or baking soda and water plaster….
For the future….my doctor told me if I get a bite I should wet the area and sprinkle meat tenderize on it immediately. That draws infection out.
Several years ago I did what I thought was a good deed by rescuing a wasp that was thrashing around in the birdbath. The next day I was watering the flowers and got stung by a wasp. The pain was awful! Not sure it was the same one I “saved”, but I remember thinking about the old adage that no good deed goes unpunished. Suffice it to say that from that day on, I adopted a strict see one-kill one philosophy on wasps! ?
As I look at the picture of your hand, I notice something like a thorn near your wrist. Could this be the problem, or maybe its a stinger from a wasp coming up from the ground. Check it out.
