I took out my Lomography art lens this morning for a photo of Flo who was, as usual, flirting with me in the hopes of getting her stomach scratched. She succeeded.
Flo has moved her main HQ to the back porch, when it gets warmer she’ll move back to the front.
I enjoy most of your photography. You have good compositional judgement and get good color saturation. The subjects themselves, of course, are wonderful. But, you’re overdoing the art lens thing and make me feel like I’m ready for cataract surgery.
Please dial back the use of the toy and concentrate on the beauty and honesty of your subjects.
I’ve been a reader of your books for years. I’m new to the blog and enjoying it very much at the start of the day. Thanks.
Ralph, I’ve taken hundreds of photos lately three of four of them were with the art lens. Sorry for your cataracts but I won’t structure my photography around your eyesight. I will continue to use the art lens whenever I see fit. You shouldn’t be looking at anything that’s bad for you, and I don’t calibrate every photo to the eyes of every reader. I would never ask a photographer to do that.
Ralph, sorry if I came off as grumpy, but you were suggesting your eyesight was the problem, not my photography. The art lens is a very unusual lens, all Russian glass and one of the effects I like is the out of focus nature of the photos.digital photography is so literal I like photos that are not…I don’t take these photos for other people as a rule, but for me. Sorry you don’t like them, but I like them a lot…j
Thank you Jon for caring for the critters.
How cute thanks for sharing
